Germany Commemorates Fall of Berlin Wall

On November 9, the Federal Republic of Germany commemorated the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, which divided the city – and the country – for more than 28 years.

Since reunification, Berlin has become one of Europe’s most attractive cities, hosting millions of tourists each year from around the world. The city also stands as a testament to the positive power of unity.

Celebrations to commemorate the event are planned for the weekend of Nov. 9-10. The city will still be in full celebration mode by the end of the month, though, as Christmas markets kick off Nov. 25.
