The Simigo 3D near Ludwigsburg and the Schwarzlichthelden in Mainz are just what the doctor orders when the weather outside isn’t playing along but you’re looking for fun, exciting and non-boring evenings or weekends.
3D Indoor Mini-Golf Fun
These 18-hole indoor arenas come complete with 3D glasses, a rolling drink cart, clubs and fluorescent golf balls. I highly recommend wearing the 3D glasses. Don’t cheat by slipping them off, because you’ll spoil the effects.
The arenas are filled with cool art, a spooky ghost train as well as Marvel comic heroes that pop right out of the wall at you. By the way, the staff is nice and friendly and speaks excellent English.
It took us about an hour and a half to go through all 18 holes. Don’t kid yourself even if you are a pro as some of the holes are not what they appear. All I can say is that I wish I could have practiced my chipping beforehand.
I advise you to make online reservations, especially for the weekends which are quite busy. We had four in our party, but you are able to reserve up to 12 people for one slot. It was very affordable too. I had a reservation for four and drinks and it cost 40 Euros.

How to Get There
Simigo
It took us about 30 minutes to drive to the Simigo 3D Indoor Mini-golf recreation center from Boblingen but leave time for traffic. Street parking is available for 2 hours during the day; we parked nearby. But save yourself some time and gas as there is a train stop Asperg (S5 to Bietigheim-Bissingen) right across the street. Simigo is tucked in the corner of a building that has several business, so be on the lookout for it. The address is 95 Bahnhofstrasse, Asperg. It’s also worth mentioning that there is a great pizza restaurant (Ristorante Leonardo DaVinci) that’s right down the street. Delicioso!
Schwarzlichthelden
Holzstraße 24, 55116 Mainz. Street parking is limited and the train stop “Römisches Theater” is only a short walk away. This way you can also enjoy a drink at one of the many pubs and bars in Mainz’s beautiful old city center.
Admission to both costs €9.50 per adult.
