If you haven’t visited a Stuttgart museum or art exhibition, it’s not too late and you can do it in one night! March 14th the museums are getting together to host “A Long Night in the Museum.” There are 90 museums and galleries participating with exhibits and displays from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. I am super excited about going to this which appears to be a live and vibrant event celebrated by many art enthusiasts. Their Facebook page is liked by over 4,000 people and one of the participating museum’s is the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

Children’s Activities 
Beginning a little earlier at 4 p.m. the children’s events begin with hands-on crafts, activities and interesting stories. There are over 10 museums and galleries participating in children’s acitivities including The Porsche Museum, House of History, The Youth Art Gallery and more. Transportation
Shuttle buses will be running every 5, 10 and 15 minutes depending on the stations. As you can see from the map it would be very easy to spend 5 minutes to well over an hour at each stop. You may find out 7 hours is not long enough even into the wee hours. (Shuttle bus map) This is a creative and interesting spin on promoting the art community to locals and art lovers alike. I am very excited about attending this “Long Night” with family and friends. I just hope for my sake the animals and statues don’t come to life like they do in the movie. That would be a freak-out. Tickets are 17 Euros for adults and 4 Euros for children 6-14. Don’t forget in Germany there is a Youth Protection Act and children who are 16/17 need a legal guardian with them after midnight.
How to Get There
Stuttgart is just over two hours southeast of Kaiserslautern and over two hours south of Wiesbaden.
