The Great Graphic Boom: American Art

June 26 - November 5

In collaboration with the national museum of Oslo, the Stuttgart Staatsgalerie presents unique American artwork from the 1960s to 1990s. At the beginning of the 20th century German expressionists fell in love with the technique and by the end of the 1950s, the US experienced a real “graphic boom.” The most important artists of the American avant-garde, represented by abstract expressionism, hard edge and pop art, started experimenting with minimalism and other styles using different prints. The “The Great Graphic Boom: American Art“ exhibition lasts until November 5 and presents around 170 impressive pieces that inspired modern pioneers like Paul Gauguin, Edvard Munch and Pablo Picasso. Admission costs €7 per adult. You will find further information at www.stuttgart-tourist.de
