4 places to go ice skating in Germany

by Susan Melnyk

Indoor and outdoor ice skating abounds in Germany this time of year!  It’s a budget-friendly way to spend an afternoon or evening and the perfect way to impress a date or entertain the family.  Just don’t forget to warm up with some hot chocolate afterwards!

Here are a few of the best place to go near our military communities (click on each for more information):

1)  Heidelberg has a huge outdoor ice rink that gives you one of the most amazing views of the Heidelberg Castle towering above.  Very romantic!

2)  In the Stuttgart area, you can find rinks in Stuttgart and at Ludwigsburg!

3) Kaiserslautern’s ice rink is indoors at the Gartenschau, well protected from the snow and rain until February 10th.

4) Wiesbaden’s ice skating rink is at the Kurhaus and run through January 10th, 2013.

P.S. You can rent skates at all the ice rinks.
